02/6/17 - Product Advertisement

In this section you will link the title to your PROPOSAL, followed by images of products and or portraits with the use of props. This will guide you to finalize the product/portrait image you will use  in your AD.

Prior to Capturing Images:

1. Research advertising photography online and then on your blog post 5 ads that you saw and thought were very effective in getting the consumer to want to buy the product.

 

2. In that same blog, write a  reflection about what type of lighting the photographer used to create the ad, and why you think they are so effective.  Mention if you could in-vision yourself as a commercial advertising photographer and what skills you think you would need to be successful.

3. Link Proposal to Title

In this section you will explain the Ad at its best:

What are you trying to sell, if you were voicing this AD, what would you say?

  AND 

What strategies did you use to add focus and narrate your AD's effectiveness? Photoshop edits? Strategies? Light Usage?
Who is your audience (age group, focus group)? Do you think your audience would be convinced? Why?

01/15/17- Principals of Design Through My Lens

In this section you will upload your captions images that portray at 4 chosen Principals of Design, you will describe each using academic language and professionally describing each for FULL CREDIT. You will then edit TWO of your choice (One as a GIF and the other one with your photo-shopping skills, ensuring aesthetics and comosition for each image.

02/28/17 - Me in History 

Find a historic photo online and include yourself in the scene. Ensure to adjust size, color and resolution to match the historic photo to look as realistic as possible.
Under your photo write an explanation: 1. Why you chose to put yourself in this historic photo? (personality, someone or event you look up to, etc.) Explain original image, event and historic scene.  

In this section you will describe the type of light painting you created. Did you choose a theme? A color? a design? A specific scene you were trying to portray? Etc.
Ensure you explain if at lease 5 sentences using academic language development (compare and contrast etc. ) 

03/06/17 - Take a Vacation 

In this assignment you are going to go on a virtual vacation. Find a location online where you would like to go and digitally put yourself into that location. Begin by brainstorming, gathering ideas and strategies. 
Expectations:  

1. Make sure to match lighting and color balance to make it look realistic as possible.

2. You must add 3 props into the scene (sunglasses, shopping bags, friends to go with you, etc…)

3. Make your new document for all the elements in the image a 12×8 150 resolution.

4. In a paragraph, using academic language, describe and  explain why you would like to go on this vacation (give details and make connections). 

03/10/17 - HDR Photography at its BEST

                                                                                            HDR PHOTOGRAPHY ASSIGNMENT EXPECTATIONS
                                                                                                                                ACADEMIC BLOG:
1. Create a blogpost explaining what the term HDR in photography means and ways to achieve successful results.
2. After you explain term, read this article and post about one image that impresses you and why? (in the SAME blog)
 

ACADEMIC TARGET:
Photograph 5 different exposures of a landscape (on Manual)
I. One at the perfect exposure, plus one and two stops underexposed and one and two stops overexposed. USE A TRIPOD for this!
II.Save images in a folder and open Photoshop>File>Automate>Merge to HDR Pro
III.Select your five landscape images and press ok. Photoshop will compile your images into one HDR image.
IV. You will probably need to do more adjustments to make it more vibrant and saturated. You should bring in cool clouds from the Internet to blend into your sky.
V. Upload to Digital Portfolio with a list of the 5 exposures you used to create the image. Explain how you manipulated and edited the image to get your final image.

03/17/17 - Self Illustration Portrait Sketch

                    For this assignment, you will first take a self-portrait or use an existing one for this project.
1. Create a new document 8×12  300 resolution. Put your self-portrait within the new document.
2. Put a blank layer on top of your photograph, and lock the photo layer.
3. PRACTICE SKETCH: Use the pencil to trace yourself and then use brushes and colors to color in your illustration.
4. Add a background to your illustration layer and save as .jpeg.
5. After all expectations are met: Describe Yourself, then illustrate why you used the colors you used, why emphasized yourself in the manner that you did and why you chose the background that you did.

04/5/17 - Candid Moment with Captions

For this ONE DAY assignment, photograph candid moments here at school, and edit your images on Photo Editing Software.
In the caption section of each photo you post write a caption including who, what, where and why.

As an Academic Review: Look at the work of photographer Henri Cartier Bresson, who captured the “decisive moment”.
BLOG: Title your blog Henri Cartier Bresson Candid Images:  Post 2-3 of his photographs and write 10 sentences about his work and your opinion of his timing, composition and ability to capture the perfect moment. 

04/28/17 - My Face from a Book

Assignment Task: This project requires and involves strategically lining up a face or another body part alongside a book cover that features a matching body part so that there appears a blending of life and art.  Take a few bookface photos, edit in Photoshop CS6 and make a series of 3-12 photos. Finally, upload your series to your digital portfolio, describe with #’s the series and why you chose that book and or style. You may go to the library and QUITELY capture the images there or check the book or book out to create your series of images with correct environment.

05/3/17 - Me in My Childhood

You will be time traveling back into your childhood memories. Choose four images from the time you were walking or around age 2 until about the time you were in 6th grade. Ensure there is enough space in the image for you to insert yourself into it.

05/8/17 - My Realistic Surrealism 

In this section, academically describe the images your choose, the perspective and lighting you implemented to finalize your Realistic Surrealism Image. What were you trying to convey, any specific message? Explain Use academic vocabulary!
